Hybrid grain set depended to a considerable extent on humidity during hybridization; the optimum humidity proved to be 70-80%. Where growth chambers or greenhouses with temperature and humidity control are not available, the use of a chamber measuring 2 X 2 X 1.7 m with a plastic covering is recommended.
