Hybridization of the species Phaseolus vulgaris and Ph. coccineus L. II. Nature of the segregation process in the F2

Hybridization of the species Phaseolus vulgaris and Ph. coccineus L. II. Nature of the segregation process in the F2

Genetika i Selektsiya 14(2): 102-110

Six Ph. vulgaris varieties were crossed with three of Ph. coccineus in work during 1977-79. As regards habit and leaf type, most F2 plants resembled Ph. vulgaris. As regards other characters, plants intermediate between those of the parents predominated. Transgressive segregation was observed for leaf size and number of internodes per inflorescence.
