Good results were achieved in breeding for grain quality by using varieties of local Kazakh origin (Akmolinka 5, Akmolinka 2, Hordeiforme 10 and Ak , which are better suited to the severe climatic conditions of northern Kazakhstan, in addition to high-quality varieties from Transcaucasia (Tavtukhi 19/28 and Derbentskaya Chernokoloska , the Ukraine (Khar'kov 46), the central Chernozem zone (Bezostaya 54 and North America (K43103).
