Abstract
A study of the F1, F2, BC1 and BC2 generations from the crosses Atlas 66 X Kalyan Sona and Atlas 66 X WL212 indicated that additive genes controlled number of grains per ear, while additive, dominance and epistatic effects were important for grain size, protein content and grain yield. Heterosis relative to the better parent was greatest for grain yield.
