In field trials on sandy soil in 1974-6, potatoes Sokol, Sowa, Pola and Narew grown from sprouted or unsprouted tubers were given 5 different combinations of 40-200 kg N + 40-200 kg P2O5 + 60-300 kg K2O/ha. FYM had been supplied 3-4 yr previously. The effects of using sprouted tubers and increasing rates of NPK were small and depended on the and the climatic conditions in different yr.
