True-breeding Triticum-Agropyron hybrids (TAH) were crossed with the short-strawed varieties Tom Pouce Gaines, Siete Cerros and Krasnodarskii Karlik 1 Inheritance of yield (grain weight) from the main ear, and also grain number per ear and 1000-grain weight, were controlled by additive, dominant and epistatic genes, primarily dominant genes. Estimated heritability was highest for 1000-grain weight.
