Changes in nutritive value associated with crop aging were studied for a maize X teosinte hybrid. Plant ash, crude fibre, Ca and P contents increased and m.c. decreased with increasing crop maturity. The CP, ether extract and NFE contents of plants increased up to 60, 53 and 60-75 days post-em., resp. and then declined towards maturity. The data obtained for the hybrid are compared with previously obtained data for maize and teosinte.
