Persistence of resistance induced after infection of kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus L.) by Colletotrichum hibisci Poll

Persistence of resistance induced after infection of kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus L.) by Colletotrichum hibisci Poll

Coton et Fibres Tropicales 34(2): 205-213

Resistance induced after infection persists after neutralization of the fungus and protects against a 2nd infection under conditions in which resistance is not expressed (15-20 deg C). This protection can last up to 15 days if growth is slowed down. Resistance is systemic and effective in healthy areas at a distance from the site of the 1st infection.
