Although CAP and EC policies vis-a-vis the Third World are both policy domains where Community as opposed to national policies play an important role they are not always co-ordinated. CAP is usually believed to have done much harm to the Third World and is in notorious conflict with EC aid and trade policies. The paper analyzes the nature of this conflict, examining some specifically controversial points.
