Population growth and population structure of natural populations of Macrosiphum rosae (L.) (Hemiptera, Aphididae)

During field studies carried out in the German Federal Republic in 3 subsequent years (1977-79), the proportions of first- and second-instar nymphs, third- and fourth-instar nymphs, alatae and apterae of Macrosiphum rosae (L.) were counted in sub-populations of the pest on roses. The numbers of winged morphs were constant throughout the season or decreased slightly.
