Prospects of adopting artificial recharge in the arid zone of western Rajasthan for efficient water resource utilization

A study of water balances of different districts of western Rajasthan, India shows sufficient water is available to recharge aquifers in adjoining areas. Lithological formations found to be good aquifers are divided into two groups: sedimentary aquifers, and igneous and metamorphic aquifers.
