Requirements for diet formulation for adult lobsters (Homarus americanus) held in high density confinement

Requirements for diet formulation for adult lobsters (Homarus americanus) held in high density confinement

Journal of Animal Science 51(Suppl. 1): 186

In Maine, USA and the Maritimes in Canada, each year millions of pounds weight of lobsters are kept at high stocking rates in lobster pounds, the equivalent of feedlots, for up to 6 months beginning immediately after moulting. The traditional feed is herring scraps from the sardine industry, but that is now variable in quality and availability.
