Research and testing non-formal education materials: a multi-media extension project in Botswana

Research and testing non-formal education materials: a multi-media extension project in Botswana

Educational Broadcasting International 13(4): 190-194

The Evaluation and Action Research Unit (EARU) was set up as part of the Agricultural Information Service of Botswana's Ministry of Agriculture to assist in producing relevant and comprehensible extension materials. Through research into not only the technical content of the messages to be communicated, but also the existing knowledge, attitudes and practices of the Ministry's audiences, it was hoped that the service could be made more relevant to these audiences.
