Research and the promotion of the use of technology



Transferring technology for small scale farming,: 67-88



A continuous and sequential system of technology generation and promotion of its use is discussed, based largely on the experiences of ICTA in Guatemala. Traditional commodity research programmes work closely with regional teams. The regional teams add a new dimension to research; while relying on the commodity programmes for specific crop technology, the multidisciplinary regional teams develop technologies for specific regions and work with regional extension personnel.
