Research on cereal biocoenoses. II. Side-effects of insecticidal treatments on the components of the entomofauna

Research on cereal biocoenoses. II. Side-effects of insecticidal treatments on the components of the entomofauna

Agronomie 2(5): 405-415

Studies were carried out in France in 1978--79 on the effects of insecticidal treatments of cereal crops on beneficial insects. Analysis of catches before and after treatment with dimethoate and a combination of parathion-methyl and phosalone showed that the numbers of insects caught decreased by 60--70% after the first treatment and by 70--80% after the second. Pest populations were very low on the treatment dates.
