Research on ectoparasites in the Philippines

Research on ectoparasites in the Philippines

Special Publication, BIOTROP (6): 35-36

It is reported in this abstract from the Philippines that little research on ectoparasites is carried out there. In veterinary medicine, research is concentrated on ticks and tabanids because of anaplasmosis, piroplasmosis and surra. The emphasis is on control and treatment. Studies on ectoparasites of household rodents and the cattle tick Boophilus microplus (Can.) are in progress.
