Research on pepper cultivation with the Colonna di Coltura technique, to find the optimum plant distance

The "Colonna di Coltura" is an aeroponic system consisting of a 2.1 m vertical pipe supporting 3 shelves horizontally to the pipe. Each shelf supports a cultivation tray in which sprinklers spray the plant roots with nutrient solution. The plants are supported by a polystyrene lid perforated by holes for the plant roots. One of these units was planted with 48 capsicum plants Lamuyo F1. The average yield/unit was 56.79 kg, i.e. 11 358 kg/1000 m2 of greenhouse area.
