Researches on the use of partly hydrolysed starch (maltodextrins) in diets for growing and fattening pigs

Researches on the use of partly hydrolysed starch (maltodextrins) in diets for growing and fattening pigs

Zootecnica e Nutrizione Animale 5(5): 517-525

For 119 days 5 groups of 12 barrows, mean weight 27.36 kg, were given a pelleted feed based on maize meal, barley meal and soya bean oilmeal without or with maltodextrins 2.5, 5, 7.5 or 10% to appetite to 45 kg, and at 9% of liveweight thereafter. Mean gain was 68.1, 66.2, 63.4, 59.7 and 65.2 kg and feed intake 2.82, 2.90, 3.14, 3.21 and 2.88 kg/kg gain.
