Reserves of organic nitrogen in roots and stems of cassava during the period of physiological rest

Reserves of organic nitrogen in roots and stems of cassava during the period of physiological rest

Solo 72(1): 15-20

Levels of CP and free and total amino acids were measured in roots and stems of 2 of cassava at 6 ages from 4 to 22 months. At leaf fall the CP content of stems increased, and during 2 resting periods the amino acid found in greatest quantities in stems was arginine. Levels of total amino acids and CP were higher at 4 months than at later harvests.
