Residual amounts of 2,4-D preparations in food and fodder products and in the soils in young broadleaved/conifer stands in the central taiga subzone

Residual amounts of 2,4-D preparations in food and fodder products and in the soils in young broadleaved/conifer stands in the central taiga subzone

Lesnoi Zhurnal (6): 16-19

Stands in the Archangel region forming after the felling of spruce forests were treated with butyl ester of 2,4-D in diesel oil at rates of 16-25 kg/ha in order to release the young conifers from competition by the broadleaves. Some areas were treated with the amine salt of 2,4-D. The treatments were made in Aug. or Sep.; samples were taken up to 33 days later of berries, edible fungi, ground vegetation and top soil, and were analysed for traces of 2,4-D.
