Residual amounts of antibiotics and other drugs in milk, their significance, detection and supervision

After a discussion of the health and dairy processing problems caused by antibiotics in milk, methods for detection and identification of antibiotics and other inhibitory substances are reviewed and details are given of the guidelines of the Norwegian Department of Agriculture with regard to withholding periods after treatment of dairy animals with antibiotics or sulphonamides.
