Residual effect of boron applied to rutabaga on subsequent cereal crops

Residual effect of boron applied to rutabaga on subsequent cereal crops

Soil Science 133(3): 155-159

This study was conducted to determine whether boron applied to rutabaga, a crop sensitive to B deficiency, may be toxic to subsequent crops. Rutabaga (Brassica napobrassica) was grown at six locations in Prince Edward Island, using 0 to 8.96 kg B/ha applied broadcast. At two locations, B was also applied in bands. Wheat (Triticum aestivum) and barley (Hordeum distichon) were grown on each site in the year following the rutabaga crop.
