Residual effect of light of different intensity and of exogenous gibberellin on root formation in pea plants

Residual effect of light of different intensity and of exogenous gibberellin on root formation in pea plants

Fiziologiya Rastenii 28(3): 575-579

In growing pea plants stem height decreased under increasing light intensities (physioligical dwarfism). Treatment with gibberellin eliminated both physiological and genetic dwarfism, but the initial habit of the dwarf plants was restored on ending the treatment. The ability of cuttings taken from plants grown under light of high intensity (400 W/m2) to form roots was less, but IAA stimulated root formation in cuttings from plants grown under high or low light intensities.
