Residual effectiveness of growth retardants on poinsettias

Residual effectiveness of growth retardants on poinsettias

Ohio Florists' Association Bulletin (632): 12-13

Rooted cuttings of poinsettia, Annette Hegg Dark Red, were potted in September and sprayed with Cycocel at 1500 p.p.m. on 8 and 15 October or left untreated. Growth of the top shoot was followed until 3 December. Cycocel reduced shoot growth most effectively during the 3 weeks following the second application, and then shoot development began to proceed at a rate similar to that in untreated plants.
