Residual effects of certain insecticides against Lyctus brunneus Stephens (Coleoptera: Lyctidae)

Residual effects of certain insecticides against Lyctus brunneus Stephens (Coleoptera: Lyctidae)

Applied Entomology and Zoology 15(3): 349-350

To test the residual effectiveness against Lyctus brunneus (Steph.) of several insecticides, strips of sapwood of red meranti, a tropical timber, were dipped in a suspension of a test compound for 1 min and then stored at 25 deg C and 50% RH for 26 months before 4 pairs of adult beetles were confined on each treated strip. The strips were examined for damage after a further 12 months.
