Agronomy Abstracts 72nd annual meeting, American Society of Agronomy: 24



Background acid-extractable Cd of 0.20 p.p.m. in a sandy loam remained at approx. the same conc. 3 yr after cropping to winter wheat. Application of 1 and 2 p.p.m. gave initial conc. of 1.45 and 2.3 p.p.m. Cd and resulted in av. residual levels 43% of the original level at the end of the 3rd yr. When 3 p.p.m. of Cd was applied no significant reduction in soil Cd was measured in the 3rd yr where initial av. soil conc. were 2.58 and final values 2.08 p.p.m. Cd.
