Residual toxicity of synthetic pyrethroids

Residual toxicity of synthetic pyrethroids

Indian Journal of Entomology 43(2): 204-206

A laboratory study was carried out in India to determine the residual toxicities of on okra permethrin, cypermethrin, fenvalerate and deltamethrin (Decis) by bioassay using first-instar larvae of the okra pest Earias vittella (F.). It was found that cypermethrin (Cymbush) had the maximum residual toxicity, its LT50 being 20.58 days, as compared with 20.05 days for deltamethrin, 17.18 days for fenvalerate (Sumicidin) and 13.75 days for permethrin (Ambush).
