Residues of chlorinated aromatic hydrocarbons in Baltic cod liver and liver products

Ten samples of fresh cod liver and 18 of canned cod liver products produced in 1978 were analysed. Tabulated values for fresh liver were hexachlorbenzene, 0.22 to 0.39, average 0.28, polychlorinated biphenyls 7.7 to 10.0, 8.8 and total DDT 7.1 to 7.4, 7.2 mu g/g wet matter. Corresponding values for canned liver were 0.11 to 0.32, 3.7 to 10.0 and 3.3 to 8.7.
