Residues of pentachloronitrobenzene and its impurity hexachlorobenzene in soil and various crops

Residues of pentachloronitrobenzene and its impurity hexachlorobenzene in soil and various crops

Bulletin of the Agricultural Chemicals Inspection Station (20): 38-45

Hexachlorobenzene occurs as a technical impurity in quintozene and had a 1/2 life of 260 days in soil compared with 80 days for quintozene. Higher concs. of HCB and quintozene were detected in carrot roots than in other crops such as radish, potato, sweet potato, groundnut, soybean and maize.
