Honey in open cells from colonies treated with phenothiazine (for control of Varroa) contained from 0.12 to 0.25 mg phenothiazine/kg 1 week after treatment, but only traces (less than 0.1 mg/kg) were present in extracted honey 7 weeks after treatment. Therefore, honey from treated hives should not be marketed for 11/2 to 2 months after the last treatment.
