Resin yield of Pinus caribaea and its possibilities for resin production

Resin tapping was performed in stands at Cajalbana (Pinar del Rio province, Cuba) in (a) 1976/77, (b) 77/78, and (c) 78/79; yield data are presented based on 12 400 individual measurements on 340 trees. Av. yield (g resin/m face streaks) was: 369.0 (a); 340.6 (b); 285.6 (c). Yield was n.s.d. in relation to d.b.h. of tree; max. yields were in April-June, min. in Sept.-Nov.
