Using the macrotest method described elsewhere large differences in resistance were detected among 800 accessions, and 15 were selected for more detailed studies. Differences between a partially resistant and a susceptible form in insect weight and production of larvae in infesting populations were unaffected by leaf age but apparently decreased with increasing aphid density.
