In greenhouse tests in which eight-day-old plants were inoculated with uredospores of two isolates of the pathogen, Estate appeared to be immune to both isolates and Aim to one of them. Reka I showed a necrotic hypersensitive reaction to both isolates, while Bolivia, Comun Egypt 4 and Quinn displayed symptoms only at certain stages of development. Apizaco and C67 were moderately resistant to both isolates.
