Two accession of St. Augustine grass (Stenotaphrum secundatum) (FA-108 and TX-33) showing resistance to the St. Augustine decline strain of Panicum mosaic virus also showed resistance to Blissus insularis Barber. After 7 days of being confined on these accessions, 80 and 65.8%, respectively, of the adult bugs were dead, as compared with 66.7% on the cultivar 'Floratam' (rated as resistant to the virus) and 10.8% on the cultivar 'Florida Common'.
