In field and greenhouse studies the resistance to Uromyces dianthi of 23 carnation species, 22 cvs and 42 hybrid forms was evaluated. In the Shabo group 10 cvs (listed) were found to be unaffected by the rust; in the Sim group there were no unaffected cvs but Rosa and Arthur Sim were highly resistant.
