A laboratory study was carried out in the USSR on the resistance to methyl bromide of larvae of Tribolium confusum Duv. and T. destructor Uytt. infected with larvae of the microsporidian Nosema whitei and the coccidian Adelina tribolii. Larvae of T. confusum were more resistant to the fumigant than those of T. destructor; when infected with N. whitei the resistance of both species was lowered, whereas infection with A. tribolii did not affect resistance.
