Resistance of plants to abiotic stresses

Resistance of plants to abiotic stresses

9 i Kongr EUKARPIA Genet resursy i selektsiya rast na ustoichivost' , Leningrad, 1980-3 i Simpoz Ustoichivost' rast k abiotich faktoram vnesh sredy Tez dokl: 32, 70

Resistant and nonresistant forms differ in the rate and range of metabolic deviations from the norm induced in them by stress. At the cellular level, the most important role in adaptation to stresses is played by a reduction in the rate of hydrolytic and catabolic reactions, the opening up of compensatory metabolic pathways and the formation of protector substances in the cell.
