Examples are given of cytological investigations on Uromyces phaseoli in cowpea, French bean and cabbage, on Puccinia coronata in oats, on P. striiformis in wheat, Melampsora lini in flax and P. helianthi in French bean, which have contributed to the understanding of prehaustorial and posthaustorial resistance.
