Resistance of plastom mutants of sunflower to chloride salinity

Resistance of plastom mutants of sunflower to chloride salinity

Ekol genet rast i zhivotnykh Tez dokl Vses konf, 1: 13-14

Three viable chlorina mutants of the plastom type and one of the nuclear type, all with a lower chlorophyll content than their initial line 3629 (60-70% of the norm), were tested for resistance to NaCl by germinating their achenes in aqueous solutions. The most resistant was mutant en chl6, in which a 1.5% salt concentration reduced germination percentage to 64%, as against 48% in en chl5.
