Resistance of red clover (Trifolium pratense L.) to clover mildew (Erysiphe martii Lev.)

Resistance of red clover (Trifolium pratense L.) to clover mildew (Erysiphe martii Lev.)

Sbornik Vedeckych Praci Vyzkumneho a Slechtitelskeho Ustavu Picninarskeho v Troubsku u Brna1979; 5/6: 231-237

Out of 5000 mutant plants derived from Renova, exposed to artificial conidial infection in the greenhouse, 12 were selected as being strongly resistant. After intercrossing, selection continued on the same basis, resulting in 3.94% of M2F1 plants reaching that same degree of resistance, and 6.73% of M3F2 plants. In further trials, 15 tetraploid varieties and 70 diploids were tested similarly.
