Sakharnaya Svekla (9): 38-39

Analysis of the chemical composition and anatomical structure of different tissues of sugar beet roots harvested after the onset of frosts lasting for several days and thereafter stored in pits, showed that the small roots (wt. 200 g) were suitable for transplanting for seed production, but not the large ones (600 g) as they were badly damaged in the field by frosts.
