Of 17 Phaseolus and Vigna species infested as seedlings with viruliferous Bemisia tabaci under laboratory conditions, Ph. calcaratus and Ph. trilobus showed no symptoms, while Ph. angularis and Ph. bracteatus showed mild symptoms. Also, V. umbellata and Ph. trilobus showed no symptoms following graft inoculation.
