Resistance to a necrotic strain of soybean mosaic virus in soybean

Resistance to a necrotic strain of soybean mosaic virus in soybean

Crop Science 20(3): 403-404

Following inoculation of 89 lines and 47 cultivars with a severe strain of soya bean mosaic virus which occurs in S. Korea causing leaf necrosis, resistance predominated among the lines. A significant proportion of the cultivars were susceptible. Kwangkyo and Tachisuzunari, which had shown themselves to be highly susceptible, were crossed with five resistant varieties. F2 segregation ratios indicated that resistance was controlled by a single recessive gene.
