Seasonal distribution of dry matter production from pure and over-drilled lucerne and from lucerne-grass mixtures as compared with pasture on pumice country

Seasonal distribution of dry matter production from pure and over-drilled lucerne and from lucerne-grass mixtures as compared with pasture on pumice country

Proceedings of the New Zealand Grassland Association 41: 31-41

DM yields from pure lucerne cut at the opt. stage of growth are compared with those of lucerne oversown with oats, barley, rye, Italian ryegrass and Bromus catharticus and with those of pasture dominated by white clover, browntop, perennial ryegrass and Yorkshire fog. Lucerne yields were 50% higher than those of pasture.
