Simulation modelling in the prognosis of abundance of the Colorado beetle

On the basis of the simulation of weather conditions of a variety of climatic and soil zones of the European part of the USSR and a comparison of the results with data from the literature covering long-term observations, simulation modelling was found to be a suitable method for the prognosis of population densities of the Colorado beetle (Leptinotarsa decemlineata (Say)).
