Trials were conducted on sandy loam and sandy clay soil with winter wheat cvs. Norda and Cama. Initially, chlortoluron at 1.6 kg/ha and isoproturon at 2 kg/ha gave better control of Alopecurus myosuroides and Apera spica-venti than methabenzthiazuron at 2.25 kg/ha, and by late winter the chlortoluron-treated plots were still the most weed-free.
