Some studies on globe artichoke Cynara scolymus, L.

Some studies on globe artichoke Cynara scolymus, L.

Agricultural Research Review 57(3): 109-117

Trials were carried out with the artichoke cvs Balady, Selected Balady, French and Selected French planted, as offshoots, on the first day of July, August or September. GA3 at 25, 50 or 75 p.p.m. was applied to some plants of the Selected French at the 4-6 leaf stage and again 3 weeks later. Selected French gave the best quality heads between December and February and Selected Balady did so in March.
