Statement on food supply in developing countries. Seminar on the theme: the foreign policy relevance of world food supply questions in the 1980s

Agrarwirtschaft 29(10): 295-298

This is the text of a speech delivered at the Ifo Institute in June 1980 one month before the author's death. It first reviews the developing countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America where the problem of hunger is more acute and where the reserves for increasing food production are very poor. Of the 893 mill people in this category some 74% live in India and 87% altogether in Asia.
