Studies on correlation and path analysis of some physical and chemical grain quality components on milling recovery and inheritance of amylose content in rice (Oryza sativa L.)

Correlation and path analyses were perfomed on data for physico-chemical characters and various other characters from the F2 of the crosses UPR4D1-1 X Bas370, UPR4D1-1 X T3, RP825-80 X Bas370 and RP825-80 X T3. A high positive correlation was found between hulling and milling recovery. Head rice recovery was significantly correlated with kernel length but was apparently independent of kernel breadth and length/breadth ratio.
