Studies on desi and kabuli chickpea (Cicer arietinum l.) cultivars. 3. Mineral and trace element composition

Studies on desi and kabuli chickpea (Cicer arietinum l.) cultivars. 3. Mineral and trace element composition

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry 29(5): 1091-1093

3. Phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, zinc, copper, iron and manganese were estimated in 8 desi and 7 kabuli type chickpea cultivars grown at ICRISAT (17 deg N) and at Hissar (29 deg N). Whole seed, dhal (decorticated split cotyledons) and seed coat were analysed. Except for Ca, Zn and Mn, the mean values of other mineral elements of desi and kabuli whole seed and dhal samples from both locations showed no significant differences.
